Need Help, Choosing a new monitor

Hi guys,
I bought a LG E2360 monitor from my local Micro Center yesterday for 180.
The colors are really terrible right out of the box.
I spent most of my day tweaking the settings of both the screen and my video card, but things still look worse than my old Viewsonic 19 inch LCD monitor.

I'm not asking for perfect colors, but it's really unacceptable so I decided to return it over the weekend.

Meanwhile, I'm looking for a GOOD monitor under $200. what would be a good buy? I play fps games and do some video editing.

Right now im looking at this one right here

That's probably the best TN panel you can get right now for the price.

If you can find a dell u2311H on sale for ~220 then that's going to blow the Asus out of the water.

For example, it's on sale right now in canada for 229.

one more question,
will I see big differences between the one above and this one right here? (except thickness, which isn't a problem for me)

Thanks in advance

Yeah, there will be a difference. The LED one (the first one you linked), will have more vibrant colors (but you will need to calibrate it because LEDs have bluish whites and and that ASUS monitor is a little bit on the red side), and slightly better contrast. It also doesn't have VESA mounting. Because it's LED, it also uses less power (over 5 years you'll easily save the $20 price difference in power bills), it's thinner and lighter, and it saves the planet!

I have 3 VH238H's and love them, the color was perfect to me right out of the box and I got them for a little cheaper than what they're sitting at now. If you decide to go with that monitor I think you'll be happy with the quality although the base/frame tend to collect a fair amount of dust due to the glossy finish so they may need to be cleaned fairly often.

Is the 236 or 238 better? Can't seem to find any comparisons.
