What do you use a computer case for? - Page 5

Foot rest, end table, work bench(sometimes borrow my rigs monitor/keyboard/mouse to work on a pc so I set their desktop on mine). Also makes one hell of a heater just do a little folding or game awhile and the room is noticeably warmer biggrin.gif. Also is a form of entertainment to me, like looking at fish in a tank but the fans move not fish and it is much cooler/shiny then the fish.

+1. In fact, during the winter my room becomes extremely warm at times to the point where I actually start lowering the thermostat and/or open one of my windows a little. More reason to fold.

Nice.. I was actually anticipating this one.

Does it actually work? I sometimes feel as if my room is a few degrees warmer than the rest of my house because of my computer. drum.gif

My 1.1V 800 core 470, 1V 470 and a Q6600 at 3.7GHz were putting out something like 900-1000W of heat after taking PSU inefficiency into account so with windows and doors closed it got scary hot in the room. tongue.gif

I used a PC as an excuse to blow 2500 quid once. biggrin.gif

If I ever get tired of the HAF X, I would use it as a golf trolley. I'd pop out the top meshes (for the golf clubs) and add some bigger wheels. Plenty of room in there to keep the balls and drinks. oh And put a battery to have some fans running to keep stuff dry...

My rig (specifically the GTX 480) also serves as an egg cooker, especially during the summer. Makes perfect eggs benedicts.

I sometimes hide things in there that I don't want people touching when I am away. Who's really going to look in there? Most people who aren't familiar with PC internals wouldn't even dare open it up.

how do you post on this website its so complicated all i can find is how to reply?

3x 480's make the best portable heater and its really effective at heating up a place such as a room. smile.gif
