So.. I guess that I have narrowed my choiced down to either the higher end HD600/650 Sennheisers.. with a small amp or the AD900's.
This is subjective. I personnaly like the design very much.

Why headphones are almost always twice as expensive on Canadian sites, I will never know.

I guess that's left up to opinion. I listen to a wide range of music, from Deadmau5, Skrillex, and Calvin Harris, to Beethoven, Mozart, to David Bowie and Zeppelin, to Outkast and Jay-Z. The 360's sound pretty damn good for pretty much anything I listen to. They were much better than the previous headset I had for gaming on my onboard sound and when I got the Xonar they blew my old headset out the water. I am not sure why people rag on the 555/360's (360's are basically the 555' with a mic on it), they sound damn clear to me and I hear things that I usually don't with lower quality headsets.

But you probably wouldn't consider $20 Skullcandys from Walmart stellar, right? After you get a chance to hear a higher end pair with better sonics, the old glory loses its shine.

This applies for everything up into the several thousand dollar range.

Yeah, I'm usually good to go provided I don't ask to listen to anything better than what I have. Also, I stay away from Head-Fi. ;-)
