Maybe if this was 1994-2000 when 3rd party hardware was awesome but nowadays Microsoft controllers are the way to go.

You guys should check out the MadCatz MLG controller.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxsTDHooroM[/ame]

Detachable cord, swappable thumbsticks, the ability to swap the d-pad with the left thumbstick so you can get a PS3-style controller for your Xbox or an Xbox-style controller for your PS3, different weights, and the ability to change the amount of tension in the sticks all seem like great features. Obviously, this will all come with a price premium, and I know MadCatz isn't exactly a renowned brand, but their Fightsticks are very durable and have basically become the standard for professional fightimg game players. It looks like these MLG controllers will be of that same quality. Hopefully they won't be too expensive...

I prefer the razer onza over the oem controller mostly because of the onza's d-pad. It takes a while to get used to though.

I really like my Onza TE, but I'll have to test it out for the 'slow turn' problem described earlier in the thread. I've never heard of it before, but I have noticed its effects. I mostly play the Gears of War series, so it's possible that it just isn't as noticeable in that game as it is in some others.

Even if it does suffer from the 'slow turn' problem, I still like it better than the OEM controller because it has a rubberized housing, the directional pad is much better, the extra bumper buttons are very useful, and the ABXY buttons have a much shorter actuation than any other I've tried. It feels more like a mouse click than a button press.

EDIT: From Razer's page -

Microsoft's controller hands down. Its probably the best controller I've ever used, I don't even own a 360 anymore but I keep a wired one around for certain PC games.
I definitely notice the slow turn in a few of my games. That Onza looks tasty.

I haven't used any of the controllers on PC other than the Microsoft wired one (which I own), and its a really nice feeling and solid controller. I'm sort of weary of trying third party controllers, seems every time I use one when I play someone elses 360, it never feels quite right, or up to the same level of rigidity that the original 360 controllers stand by.

I've got the Razer Onza TE, and it's great. All the buttons are the hyper response buttons are like their mouse buttons, VERY good response. The shoulder buttons are slightly longer so you've got more control for pressure sensitivity.

I haven't touched the stock controller since.
