Look at my post though. This is nothing at all new from Rockstar. They've ALWAYS done this with every PC release.

Seriously, try to play GTA III on a Pentium II 450MHz with a 16MB graphics card. My laptop can BARELY pull playable framerates on it with a 64MB Geforce 6150.

They were the ones that started it. If you don't realize it, my intentions was to see if people think Rockstar is supporting the PC like they say they are. I never complained about any games being multi-platform.

I think you have a different definition of "support."

See these two sentences:

1. He supports Intel.
2. This Intel processor is supported by that motherboard.

I think your idea of "support" is along the lines of the the first sentence, while Rockstar's idea of "support" is closer to the way "support" is used in the second sentence.

so true they make good console games but for pc they just want to make easy money and hope the pc gamers are dieing for these games and dont notice how crappy they are cause of not being correctly ported or made.

I'm making a safe assumption. The simple fact that all the games you've list are AAA mainstream titles implies that graphics do matter. Also, no acknowledgement of Valve titles??? I'm not even a fanboy of Valve games and i can appreciate that they are a very PC-centric developer...

You say you're not complaining about games going to console???

See all bold points below:

Hmm..I beg to differ on that really...Considering the fact that GTA 4 not only came out months after it was released on consoles, it was unplayable for most people. Now they're following the same trend with LA Noire but we have yet to see if it's optimized properly.

If you want you can read the comments here http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...this-fall.html

I've seen a few RDR videos, and I'd rather buy that. Honestly if LA Noire comes out and they're asking full price like $60-$40 I'm not buying it. The only time I would be buying it is if it's at least $19.99. I'm not gonna fork over $50 on a console port when I can spend the same amount of money on a game that was developed for the PC (Skyrim, MW3, TW2). So I ask again, do you think Rockstar is supporting the PC as that one employee claims? Or are they full of **** and contradictions like Microsoft?

Also, it seems you don't exactly understand what the term "console port" means. There's a difference between console ports and bad porting.

Again, this is NOT a NEW practice from Rockstar at all. People don't buy Rockstar games for the best graphics, or the best compatibility on PC hardware. We buy them because the games are extremely fun! Everyone (at least I thought) knows that Rockstar has always released console ports that run like garbage. They've been doing this for 15+ years now.

This entire thread is pointless, seeing as how this should be common knowledge.

And my i5 build runs GTA IV and EFLC flawlessly with mods, never drops below 45 FPS, averages around 60-70.

My Pentium III 800MHz, 384MB SDRAM, and GeForce 4 Ti4200 ran Grand Theft Auto Vice City fine. It actually had more trouble running Grand Theft Auto III, though I think turning down one video setting helped that, and it wasn't unplayable.

That was in 2003 the PC version released, so a Pentium III was pretty mainstream (or old if you were a gamer) at the time. Likewise, Grand Theft Auto III released in the middle of 2002 on the PC. If you were running it on a Pentium II at the time, that's your (your in general, not your as you) fault. The Pentium II was years old against the then new/powerful Playstation 2. That'd be like me trying to run a console port of the next generation consoles if they came out today and expecting perfect performance on my CPU.

Also, a GeForce 6150 is onboard, no? There's your likely problem, especially if you're running a "high" resolution (considering 1024x768 was about the norm back then). Granted, I'm not saying their ports are performance optimized, but rather that they didn't not run (double negative on purpose) on the hardware of the time.

I'm getting sick of Rockstar games to be honest they aren't fun anymore they do the same thing over and over and never try anything new. Best sandboxes out right now, Prototype, Infamous and Just Cause 2. They are way more fun to play around in because they do something new.

Oh my god, If I really wanted to start a war obviously there are easier titles to name than GTA 4. Really I have a list if you want to see it. But don't turn my post into something it's not. Because that was not my intentions. Please, go away. This has nothing to do with Valve.
