I'm not talking to those guys who buys a game regardless of price because its something they absolutely want. You know the must-buy games like BF3, Diablo 3, MW3...etc.

I'm talking about the people who are kind of interested in buying a game but are put off by the $59.99 price. Would you be more inclined to buy that game you're on the fence about if it were cheaper? Say $49.99 or even less?

I just put Rage, TES: Skyrim, and Deus Ex in the steam cart and it came out to $165. These are all single player games too.

49.99 would help but I think 39.99 would be a great place for games to start.

$45 would be the PERFECT price for games. Almost justifies the common $15 DLC's.

Especially if it's a singleplayer game. Rather wait it out.

It's better to grab when the game and its DLC go on sale...

The main reason for the wait is to see if the game is really any good, and/or if it's a bug fest...

I would definitely be more inclined to buy some games I may not be familiar with. I already buy a lot of $60 games but those are all ones I know are gonna be good and I'm willing to pay the price for.

Most recent example, I was really intrigued by Child of Eden when I saw it announced and I followed it a bit but when it came out at $60 I was quite put off by the price even though I wanted to play it. As soon as it dropped to $40 I went out and bought it though. I thought $40 was a much better price for what it is.

I pretty much never get games at launch because of the steep prices. Unless I come across an awesome deal, I'll wait until the price is more reasonable. I can't really justify spending $60 on a game I may or may not like, and researching a game is misleading more often than not (kind of like movie trailers only showing the best parts).

I wouldn't say no to spending $1.

Honestly though, I buy a new video game something like every 8-12 months. Seeing as I play them to death in the 8-12 months following, I don't mind. This year might actually cause me to set a new personal record and buy both BF3 and MW3.

EDIT: When I say new, I mean new. I buy a lot of old discount $5 games. The only games I have got within the first 30 days of them coming out are MW2 and Portal 2.

I have rarely bought $60 dollar games after I used to spend months and months saving to buy a game in Mexico for 800 pesos which back in that time was like 80 dollars. Then I would trade it for another game paying a fee of $5 and that was the only way I could try games there. They overprice games so much.

Last game I bought for $60 was MW2 with a $20 credit. I thought it was a waste and rip off with the $15 map packs. After that I decided to not ever pay $60 for a game. The 2 most expensive games I bought after that was BFBC2 $35 and SC2 $30 in the first 2 weeks of release got some lucky deals.

Now I've been mostly buying $5~ games and sometimes $10 games. In fact I got AliensVsPredators and it so dam buggy that I don't think it was worth the $5 I paid. My 580 can't play it. Metro 2033 was a great game and was worth the $10 I paid, but no way it's worth $60 for such a short game.

You yanks think you have it bad...
Those same games here in Australia with regional price gouging came to $251.97

I WISH I could see $59 price tags...
