Going to Overclock Athlon X2 5200+

Thread Starter
I've looked in the club section for it (regor) But my revision is greater than that of whats in the spreadsheet, so I'll have to do this entirely by myself.

I've heard it's a major pain to overclock AMD Processors, but I'm only running at 2.3Ghz, so you can possibly understand why I want to overclock it.

These are the instructions I found that most described my situation. If anyone can tell me the legitimacy of Nagisamas post, it would be helpful.

Hi,

I don't know what board you got, but this guide was useful to me, I own a 4400+ on an A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

It is not a pain in the ass at all. I only dislike that I cannot change the VID or multiplier while using Cool'n'Quiet.

So I've overclocked it to an almost stable 3Ghz, despite being unable to control voltage above 1.4 or the multiplier being top locked at 11.5.

In two days I'll be getting my shipment for a new ASRock mobo, so I'll be attempting to unlock the extra cores, and set the voltage/multipliers higher to get a better overclock.
