[SD] Brink is Free to Play on Steam Until Sunday! - Page 9

So the Free weekend has been over for 9 and a half hours... and I'm still playing it. I never closed the game after 3pm (central) haha! Now as long as I never restart my computer I have a free game.

I find the game enjoyable... though I have really done multiplayer because my internet has been hit or miss today for some dumb reason so when I tried the multiplayer earlier it was real laggy for me.

Oh my, Brink is probably one of the worst shooters I have played. First the AI is terrible, I about died laughing after reading this http://www.destructoid.com/brink-ai-...s-171540.phtml. Next, the objectives are all the same and the game is way too repetitive. Another thing is it feels like I was using a BB gun, apparently it takes a full magazine of ammo to the chest to kill someone? At the most I would give the game a 4/10. This is my own opinion though.

This pretty much sums up my opinion of the game.

1. The AI is crap if you are on the side that is attacking
2. I found the hit detection to be lacking.
3. The amount of ammo needed to perma-kill a person was way too much
4. The class system doesn't have enough variety
5. The guns were too similar to each other
6. I didn't like the grenade / action system
7. They need to add more game modes
8. Runs like crap on my 4870
9. The mounted MG are way underpowerd, and the lack of accuracy is ridiculous

This game had so much potential, but overall I didn't have much fun with this game. Now it was just me and my brother so most of the players on each team were bots, but that only makes the AI issues even more glaring. Would I buy it? No. I feel that I extracted all of the fun out of the game in about 3 hours.

I agree on everything you just said.
The AI was terrible. They would often just run into the middle of my team and just stand there for a few seconds doing nothing.

Just to mention, Splash Damage hasn't made much. I think it was a good attempt to be VERY different in the FPS scene, maybe a bit overwhelming for a studio like that.

If Bethesda themselves took it over, perhaps it would have turned out differently.

I guess it's true, if they designed the AI around a total noob

If you join the game and you are rank 1 then the AI is eazy on you. Thats how they disigned the AI. If you are ~ rank 15-20 then the AI is much better.

I find the game fun, AI are eh but what do you expect. I like the high amount of ammo it takes to perma kill, it reminds me of Shadowrun where it took a while to clear a body, so you could either leave it or sit through and kill body knowing other team could have a player with resurrect. I never really used the grenades much, so I can't comment on that. SMART system was pretty useful for getting behind cover, or sneaking up behind an enemy or just escaping. I have a GTX 560 Ti so I had flawless playing.

It's funny though hearing people complaining about how many shots it takes to kill, oh you CoD boys.

WHAT...IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST LOOKING AT THEM TO DIE?! UNINSTALL!!!!!

I really don't get what there is to complain about AI, I mean really, AI is AI. I'd rather play against real players, seeing as this is a FPS and all.
