[SD] Brink is Free to Play on Steam Until Sunday! - Page 10

so i pretty much palyed this game for about...i would say 4-5 hours. I gave it a good try. Its a decent game, i enjoyed the mutli player as it was different then anything i have played before but i found a few things i didnt like about it:
1) the AI (awful)
2) the parkour mecahnic. While it was new and interesting and kind of cool to play around with it def wasnt polished. I would be running down a hallway and randomly stuart climbing over a potted plant or a couch when i wasnt even ontop of it.
3) the killing factor. Some guns where a lot of fun while others where broken or pointless. I would run around a corner and while a majority of the people where half a clip or so you would find some random guy who was indestructible or took 3 clips sometimes to kill him. I know its for the class and all that depending on body type and class but it wasnt balanced...at all
4) the 8 vs 8 aspect. While i understand it has smaller maps and is more face paced action i think it could be great if it had bigger maps and more players maybe a 15 vs 15 or 20 vs 20

the graphics were good for the game, the weapon selection was great because it had so many differnt combinations and the character customization was awesome. I didnt buy it only because i am going on a trip soon and trying to save money so maybe if its cheap in a month or 2 ill pick it up.

decent game...but needs more polish

I'd buy Brink if I was into FPS right now. I can't play FPS's at all right now all because of CoD's new low TTK trendsetting causing me to hate every other FPS put out.

The gameplay was fun. I was hoping the parkour would allow you do more but it seems limited especially with some map types. The AI was horrible which is something you have to deal with when other players start to quit. The weapon power was hit or miss. On some of the weapons I could pump a full magazine into someone and then I would have to switch to the secondary. I couldn't really tell a difference between most of the weapons.

I was really dissapointed with the campaign. From the trailers and interviews the campaign seemed to have a rich background to start from. The campaign ended being a boring, cliched series of events that didn't even seem to match up with one another.

After one side of the campaign, some MP, and the challenges my final determination was that it wasn't worth the $24.

I don't get why everybody is complaining about the AI, majority of games don't even have AI, you're just stuck with less players.

The campaign and challenges heavily rely on the AI. And most of the objectives are class based so there needs to be someone to fill in the other necessary roles.

It would be one thing if the game had a large enough MP community so we wouldn't need bots, but it doesn't. Without the bots the game would be dead sooner.

Loved the art style, but I wouldn't pay more than $15 for this game. I had my fun though.

I thought the "parkour mechanic" was nothing more than "meh".

Hey guys! I can vault myself over this ledge.... nothing revolutionary. I believe CoD MW1 had this function, maybe even before then? Even ARMA 2 has the "I'm gonna swing my legs over this little fence" function.

They were nowhere near as advanced as Brink's S.M.A.R.T. system. There's a difference between persistently going anywhere and climbing through windows or climbing onto a car with a set animation that you have no control over.
