CPU and Water Cooling Built in Desk

Thread Starter
Working on a custom desk. Will also be building my first custom computer which will also mark my first attempt at water cooling system. All of this will fit inside of the desk. My first question getting started is how much room would i need to properly get everything in?

Right now i have a space set on the end that is 9 3/4" wide x 34 1/2" deep. Obviously i know 34 deep is more than enough but is the 9 3/4 wide enough? From what i looked at most cases are around 9" wide...

That's a heck of a lot to tackle as a virgin on so many fronts. Btw, search under user usforces iirc. He's built a helluva watercooled system desk.

ok. typically you want you airflow to go parallel to the desk, so you just need to measure your components that stick out the most. You've got your graphics card in your MOBO, you powersupply (if you turn it on its side, but I'd probably just turn it upside down) and thats really about it (because nothing else should much be sticking up that far. I'd go at least 7.9" because that means you can put in some beautiful 200mm fans
