[Eurogamer] Blizzard "surprised" by Diablo 3 outrage - Page 20

in all seriousness, I think most people who actually had a copy of D1 or D2 played the hell out of the single player mode -offline- because back then internet wasn't that amazing. i remember how much of a pain it was trying to connect with 56k and DSL into the gameserver. I pretty much gave up on it!
I am utterly baffled by all of the corporate white knighting, why would anyone defend and cheer for unnecessary inconveniences put on the consumer? I guess we all know why companies can get away with this stuff, not only will these people be rushing to open their wallets, but they'll tell themselves and others that these are good things. It's not just in this thread but so many like it, like people just love getting day 1 DLC.

I want to be mauled by beer. Where does one have this done to ones self?

I can't ask you anything honestly, since your posts are just so full of nonsense.

Sorry DOUBLE LOLOL

Maybe the beer hit you in the head too much and left your left brain paralyzed , the beer dragged you into the beer factory in an attempt to maul you some more.In your unconcious state , you suddenly felt the urge to play D3...

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! It was a REQUIREMENT to get paralyzed in the
left brain and be in a beer factory in order to unlock the ability to play the game on your computer. *You can now play the game!* , now if only you weren't unconscious....

You're just spewing ridiculous examples.

To others:
Is it really THAT difficult to see that if for ANY REASON your internet goes down or have no internet , it would have prevented you from accessing ANY part of the game you paid money for ; even the ones that doesn't REQUIRE you to be on a connection?

It's not that. It's the fact that the game you bought is unplayable because of some stupid system. This kind of absolute control over something you own should be criminal.

It's pretty hilarious how the Knights of the Blizzard money table have turned the discussion into "If you don't have internet it's all your fault, go play something else!"

You missed the point my good sir. Everybody is trying to give example of random times internet would go out like your router break as if it happens to everybody every week.

You sir, missed the point, that example was meant to be outrageous and ridiculous since people love coming up with all these examples of stuff that could happen.

OH YEAH UH WHAT IF MY INTERNET'S SERVER LIKE BLEW UP FROM A RANDOM PASSING BY ROCKET?! NOW I CAN'T PLAY DIABLO 3 DUMB BLIZZARD!!!

Like I've said before, it's not Blizzard's fault you own a PC and money for a video game, but not have access to internet in 2011.

I was alluding to the point that it REQUIRES the absurd (i.e 24/7 internet) in order to play the game that you OWN where you can't necessarily provide all the time , but you ARE able to provide the logical things that you need (hands , functioning brain , time etc.).

It crosses the line because its optional , why would you need an internet connection in a single player game?
