WHAT GPU FOR AN 4Ghz X2 555BE ? - Page 2

Get a 6850 if you're using a 1080p screen.
If you are using a lower resolution than 1080p, just settle with a 5770.

People are taking this whole bottleneck thing way overboard. With that CPU, you will only be bottlenecked in CPU intensive games, like GTA IV.

Buy the best card you can afford and anyone that screams bottleneck can go jump in front of a bus

i would rather stay with 6870 than 6850. Can get MSI 6870 HAWK at 6850 price.

I now that will not see diference at all in this resolution but i am will upgrade to 1080P 42" TV later this year

I'd agree with a 460. Great price point and good match for a dual.

Or get a better mobo, unlock, overclock and go with a 560 Ti.

6850/6870 always leave yourself a little bit more than you need!

Did you know that unlocking your chip to an X3 will still be 95w TDP? I believe you could get away with that safely. That would open you up to a better card, and have you ready for max FPS on your future 1080p plans.

I had no overheating issues when I had my chip on a GA MA785G US2H which has almost an identical VRM. I even ran it X4 @ 4.4 and folded like crazy. Board is still alive and well.

A single 460 handles just about anything nicely in 1080p. 30 FPS Metro 2033, 40 FPS Crysis 2. Clocked at about 850/1700.

So, is 1338/768 the max resolution you can get on your 32"? What make and model is it? You may be able to force a higher resolution.

EDIT: Actually, my VRM is lower quality.

Do you know how to add your system specs to your sig?

The GTX 470 or GTX 560Ti are both going to be right over the edge of a bottleneck, but the price of the 470 these days makes it tempting. EVGA B stock has a GTX 460 for 109.99 which seems like the most logical choice.

My TV is NORDMENDE if it tells You somethin, i assume not

Now lets get to the point of unlocking issue.
After changing acc to hybrid and all cores the ECC Firmware is updating.
System shoots down and after while starts as X4 Deneb . Windows is loading fine. Everything seems fine. Checking stability of Unlocked cores by prime95 for an hour give no errors. the problem is when i turn off computer and after turning it on back my MB is giving me a sound signal 1long 3shorts . What can it be ?? i Have unlocked it with 1.375V . The only thing i can do after error is to clear CMOS . PLEASE HELP

No i dont know haw to add my spec sys to sig ,will figure it out later

Can you unlock it to quad? games such as BFBC2 are quad core optimize

But for ur small res a 5770 should do, aswell as a 6850.

The 6870 should definitely do it. For the price, it's definitely powerful. I ran one of those on my build at 1920X1080 for a week before crossfiring it and I was quite impressed (I had a 5870 prior to it). At your res it's probably more than you need, but it leaves room for you to upgrade your monitor in the near future.
