Buying new Computer - Want long-lasting MoBo

hi all

I'm looking to buy a new computer.

The main thing I can't figure out is this:

I want a motherboard that will last as long as possible. Should I go ahead and buy a Z68 or wait for Panther Point mother boards. Will Panther Point MoBos last to Haswell and broadwell processors or will another upgraded motherboard be needed? As in the processors won't fit due to architecture or die shrink issues

thanks so much!!!

Get a P67, 2500k, then when Ivy Bridge arrives, swap it out for a new CPU on the 1155 socket. Any board will last, unless for some reason Haswell only runs on PCI 3.0, which I highly doubt. You could also get a AM3+ for current Phenom's and Bulldozers afterwards.

Don't go cheap either, get a board with good power phases and beefy cooling.

Any that you are looking at right now?

Yea I'm going Intel.

So in conclusion if I buy a P67 motherboard I will have no problem switching in intel's haswell AND Broadwell/Rockwell processors say like in 2014-2015.
