Hi. My computer is generally very stable. I've run intelburn test several times, it passes with full marks and decent gflops for my chip. Temps cap out around 53C in intelburntest, prime95 stable for several hours at this OC/unlock and temps around 51C. Memtest is fine and the hd tests are all fine.

However last night, I was browsing reddit / listening to radio stream and the radio suddenly cut out, I tried to close firefox and the system started becoming unresponsive and eventually froze. No bluescreen/blackscreen, just the desktop and mouse froze and I couldn't do anything other that force a shutdown by holding the power button. I immediately rebooted and checked the eventviewer, however there was nothing in there, other than the critical error kernel power thing that is normal when you hard reset a PC. I noticed that there was a similar one about 3-4weeks ago which reminded me this had happened before.

This is very infrequent and I don't recall it ever happening while gaming and I know for a fact it has never happened during a stress test. I'm quite sure my system is stable but I was wondering if I should be worried. As I say it happens once in a blue moon, and I'm presuming/hoping it's just drivers of software related. I just find it odd that there was no bsod or anything in the eventviewer.

Should I be concerned or just shrug it off and only start to worry if it happens more frequently (i.e daily/hourly as opposed to once every few weeks/months).

I'd more then likely test RAM first.
Memtest86 would be a good place to start.

OP, I have a similar system and facing the same type of issue. Have you been able to fix your problem?
