Someone's a little angry that Sandy Bridge beats their inferior CPU.

I have the X58 G1 Guerrilla. I got it in a sale/trade with my chip and ram. It wouldn't have been one of my first choices seeing the pics of it, but I can tell you, once I saw it in person it looks phenomenal. I've found tinkering with it that it is absolutely rock solid and the mag heatsink does actually do a really good job at helping keep it cool.

SB is fail... if you care to run lots of RAM, full triple channel and SLi/crossfirex (1-16x = fail imo)

Sorry, but aren't you using an i7 920? I even have the 975EE and my 2600k boxes step all over it.

For $1200, I can build a Sandy rig that will push a CineBench score of 9.7. For $1650, I could build an i7 980 rig that would push a score of 12. Worth it? Nope.

Just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's worse. Welcome to computing and time.

On topic: this is the single most ridiculous motherboard I've ever seen. Giga should just stick to making badass, full black motherboards. Their 990fx mobos look super cool.

Gigabyte needs to release a mATX version. I'd buy this over the Maximus GENE-Z based on color scheme alone. That and the X-Fi is an actual chip, not just coded emulation like the ROG boards.

Also there seems to be a dedicated chunk of PCB for it too.

why does everyone hate on the way this board looks? these g1 boards look amazing and badass. way better than the dull plain all black mobos. and the heat sinks look way better than the ultra durable. you haters must be on drugs.

on a different note, I'm very disappointed this board doesn't have the nf200 chip, has minumul phases, and no on board buttons. For 360$ i expect more. might as well buy a maximus.

the onboard audio seems like it will be amazing tho

I liked the first G1 sniper but the second one is just pure ugly!!!

I would much prefer to use this board instead of the g1 sniper 2.
