What do you guys think?

Should I pull the trigger and get this Acer HN274H?

http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0362237
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...300&Tpk=HN274H

I have been waiting for this and is finally in stock at my local store...
I do gaming obviously from my system and will love to see the fluid 120hz motion (don't care about 3d much) and do not need a higher resolution as 1080p is fine...

I don't see too many reviews online and am wondering if anyone here has this monitor?

If you don't need 3D you're certainly paying for it! You could buy a 47" 120hz 1080p HDTV for that price.

Absolutely no point if your not going to use the 3D 24/7.
The 3D isn't even that big of a deal, I find it hard to use on a regular basis. Sense you said your not going to use the 3D, you might as well get a cheaper monitor that doesnt use 3D and can do the same things. Also, that monitor is only 120Hertz for 3D. So if you were using 2D, its only 75hertz

you'd be better off just getting a 120hz 1080p TV as suggested before, or just a different monitor.

This, I hate being taken in by the "cool" factor and finding out how useless it is later. I think you'd be much happier with a nice big tv.

Sorry but I will have to disagree with you guys with purchasing a TV...as I already have an LCD TV hooked up...
None of the consumer based televisions that you see at local retailers, Sony or Samsung(TV's and not monitors) have true 120hz inputs...through HDMI 1.4 or Dual Link DVI...
Sony and Samsung use frame interpolation engines to add frames to look more smooth... This means input lag and artificial frames and can lead to artifacts/glitches...

I know I will be able to see the difference with 120hz in the smoothness as my computer will be able to push such high frame rates... especially in FPS and fast paced games... Games like Starcraft II I know won't be so huge...

Anyone have this monitor and is it worth it?

Can you confirm this? I was on the assumption that this can do 120hz in 1080p 2d or 3d...
I know in 3d the frames will be cut in half due to shutter glasses, but reguardless do 120hz (or frames) in 1080p...

120hz in 2d is a day and night difference. I'm not sure why you guys are claiming that you'll get 75hz max, and that there's no point if you aren't using 3d.

There absolutely is more smoothness in 2d while gaming.
