Ordering a overclocked gamer pc - Page 3

Man, i'm just in the same proccess (building a machine for my first time) and trust me, 100x cheper. Sure you might have to wait for parts etc but it's all a learning curve as well.
I'm hoping to overclock once i've built my beast as well which is more fun in it self haha

I would also suggest toning down on the 27" and getting something closer to 23"-24"

Well first off let me say this. Thanks for all of the great responses. Its hard to find that on websites these days. I am going to take your advice and build myself. Last time I built a computer was back whent he 486 was king and having 512mb of ram was kicking.

The 2 websites I have checked out for purchasing equipment is newegg and tigerdirect. Anyone have a better suggestion.

Thanks again for all of the helpful advice.

now that's what I'm talking about. that's why I love this site. amazing.

I'd be happy to put together some builds for you as I'm sure a lot of other people would be too. Just tell me your budget and what games you're looking to play. There are some really great deals to be had out there if you know where to look.

its really up to you, i was pretty scared about taking apart and putting together my own pc the first time too; i was SOOO cautious about everything, still am a bit today but the satisfaction you get after you build it rather than some POS, overpriced PC is overwhelming my PC is my baby

you see that everyone who's built a rig has not regretted it, i spent a grip of money because i bought a prebuilt PC, wasnt happy with it kept upgrading and spent a lot more. the support for it is here even people offering to build it for you because ...they want the fun and accomplishing feeling

I love newegg. Great prices. Like someone else said, start a new thread stating you want a computer for however much your budget is and all the accessories you want.

what area are you in? i'd go microcenter for motherboard + cpu combo, usually a good $50+ cheaper and i love getting parts same day *drools haha

newegg for the ram, try to get in that corsair vengance deal i just bought another 8gb more, (i video/photo edit dont yell at me for getting another 8gb lol)

everything else, you're on the right track, newegg, tigerdirect and amazon are where i buy the rest of my parts, just do a bit of comparison shopping. if i MUST have it same day i go to frys or microcenter. check out slickdeals.com for more deals i always find some hdd or psu sale from there

also... your budget is around 1800?

Fry's will price match pretty much everyone, even Amazon if the item is offered by them.
