Well i was looking at some on amazon-http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-CD79051100A1-04-Call/dp/B00409SOBO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1312559581&sr=8-4

but in all honesty those just looked cool and were cheapish. I really dont know a whole lot about this stuff and with school starting back yesterday im not going to have a lot of time to look it all up. I hate to ask you to do that work for me lol but if you know more than me i would greatly appreciate it.

Tritton as a brand kind of sucks, imo...The durability of their products is mediocre at best. What's your budget? If it's around the $150 range, then you should take a look at the Cooler Master Storm Sirus. The initial reviews have been very positive.

Of course, all the audiophiles will tell you to get a set of headphones with a clip-on microphone, but contrary to popular belief, there are some great headsets out there. You just gotta dig through the crap to find the good ones.

sound is Great on them. 5.1 surround.. I seen nothing wrong with them. But if you got $150 to spend then yea, you might wanna get the more expensive the better sometimes. But the Tritton does its job very very well.. & there cheaper at the moment

I agree that there are some good headsets, but they are overpriced for what they are, fit right in your budget OP

That's all fine and dandy, but from the user testimonials I've read, Tritton headsets don't hold up very well past a couple months from purchase. I frequent another forum that caters to the competitive gamer crowd, and the guys who post there attend events like MLG and ESEA LAN's. Basically, these are guys who rely on this equipment to play their game of choice, and the Tritton headsets as a whole have a bad rep among them. Just my 2 cents.

I disagree. That particular Cooler Master headset is 5.1 Surround (true 5.1, meaning 4 drivers in each earcup, and decent-sized ones at that) and it comes with an audio mixer and a boom microphone. The HD595, while they might have better sound quality for music and such, are stereo heaphones without any of the bells and whistles that the Storm Sirus has for about the same price (actually the MSRP for the Storm Sirus is $129.99, so they're cheaper than the HD595's). The OP stated that he wants headphones for gaming, so that's why I recommended those.

EDIT: Sorry for the double-post. Meant to edit my other one...Dunno what happened...
