Hosting a site from my own pc

Thread Starter
Hey, i dont know if this is the right section to post about this.. But anyways..

I'm trying to host a site from my own pc but it isnt working at the moment.

So i bought this domain name yesterday (codeamsterdam.com), fortward my ports and run wampserver to get the site online. When going to localhost the site shows up and works fine. But the problem is that i cant get it public from behide my router for some reason. I changed the DNS to my ip address in the domain name manage page but when ever i type in the domain name or my ip, i get redirected to my router for some reason.

At the moment im really confused since i use to run a site acouple of months ago with a free domain and that worked fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this or has advice for me? Thanks

did you forward the correct ports to allow access from outside the network?

You need to do port forwarding from your router to the hosting PC.

You're configuring your router using port 80 http, right? so your hosting PC is also using port 80? try changing the LAN PC to 8080 see if that works.

Or try changing your router port to 8080.

even if you forward port 8080 from your router to the LAN PC but the
application still using on port 80 still useless.

Change the router port web configuration to 8080 and just let the LAN PC use 80.
This is easy way instead of configuring the application from the LAN PC to use 8080.
