Please help! CPU won't reduce speed after OC

Hi guys-

Alright so I system to reduce speed when idle. I OC my system to say 4.6. It runs fine but at 4.6 the entire time, never reduces speed. Everything I try keeps the system running at full speed the entire time. I have Speedstep enabled and haven't touched any of the power saving options, their all enabled.

It's pretty wierd as I've changed my RAM frequency from 1333 to 1600 and that keeps the system running at 3.7 with no overclocking.

Speedstep works fine with all settings to auto.

Any ideas? I'm stumpped.

See if any program is using your CPU ! Task manager->Processes tab

Enabled C1E and Speedstep in the BIOS, if that doesn't work, save the profile and clear the CMOS.

This helped. The CPU is now fluxuating based on need but the voltage is constant despite being on auto, any thoughts?

either use manual voltage or offset not auto. Offset allows the voltage to drop along with the multiplier.
