Low WEI for hd 6970 - Page 2

Install the latest Intel chipset drivers. I get a 7.9 for Graphics and Gaming with my 6970. Something is wrong.

i have 11.7 installed already; maybe the clock underclocks itself and stays at 500mhz? its stock at 850 but its sort of like intel where if i'm not using something graphically intense it underclocks itself to 250mhz to 500mhz....

i'll recheck for old nvidia drivers but i'm pretty sure they were gone

THANNK YOUU!!!!

yes WEI shouldnt matter SO much but if its showing 6.4 for a top 5 graphics card on the market it should do way above that rating!

do you have any suggestions to what could be wrong with it?

my 6950 shader unlocked and OC'd to 6970 speeds scores a 7.6. I'm using 11.5 drivers.

ChecI what gpu-z says. I was having issues like what you describe, but only with crossfire, shouldn't do that with one card, and even so, running the assessment would stress the card which would bump it up (if that was the case, which it shouldn't be)

My 5670 gets a 7.1

Something is definitely a little fishy here

Have you installed this yet?

Naah, don't ignore WEI. Until you get 7.9, something is definitely wrong. Try to re-install chipset drivers and reinstall video drivers and see how that works out. This is super weird :/

WEI is useless. Try to update windows. If you have win 7 are service pack 1 installed. I have a MSI 6970 LIGHTNING with default clock of 940 mhz and WEI score it 7.9 but when i overclock to 1GHZ WEI suddenly score it 7.0 . But if i am you i will score that gpu with 3d mark or heaven.
Have fun with that monster. I love it.

No, the WEI definitely tells you if something is wrong.
