Is the Q9650 @ 4Ghz still a powerful cpu?

I have my Q9650 OC`ed to 4ghz 24/7 and still to date i find it pretty bad ass cpu for all my needs like extreme gaming (like crysis 2 at ultra settings), video editing, benchmarking and bit of everything!

what`s your opinion! discuss please....

It's a great chip, but it makes no sense to keep it in the US. Here, it sells for more than a new i5 2500k. Since the motherboards and memory cost about the same, you can move to a Sandy Bridge without spending money, so keeping it isn't a great idea. Is it different in Malta?

Yes,still very capable CPU..

I have Q9550 @ 4GHz and it laughs at my OC'd GTX480 (850/1025MHz)..

I have a Q9550 at 3.7GHz. It can't keep up in benchmarks, but for actual real use scenarios it still kicks ass.

i got my retail q9650 from an ebay auction with a great price so i don`t regret it especially the low vid it has 1.225v

yes it can run just about anything, the biggest limitation of the lga775 is the boards not so much the cpu

The Q6600 is a lower end CPU compared to the Q9650 but it is still capable with many applications, just not as well compared to the newer CPUs of course
