[Xbit] Nvidia Denies Plans to Release Kepler GPU in 2011 - Page 6

Good to know, hopefully either these or the upcoming 7000 series will be come down in price like the nvidia 460s did so I can snag a new GPU in about 12-18 months.

It is a new architecture though. that's 2 new architectures to Ati's 3 refreshes of the same old deal in relatively the same timeframe. Small wonder ATi's are more efficient/refined while NVidia's are more suited to the cutting edge/HPC.
how can you know for sure that its a new architecture ... and 2nd of all .. why would nvidia do another brand new architecture after fermi ... the gt 500 series was just a fermi re-spined after all ...

LOL at the 2nd bolded part

actually it would make sense what your source said

Maxwell is predicted to be a larger step in performance per watt, but that doesn't necessarily translate into what it's overall performance will be. A Nvidia chart shows Maxwell arriving in 2013, but 2014-2015 is more likely.
probably so .... it only depends on tsmc if they dont screw up 22/20nm

Yeah, right...if you mean 2012, sure. The earliest I expect them to release Kepler is late Q2 2012, it's gonna take an overhauled architecture on Nvidia's part to even come close to competing with AMD in the future (especially in power-per-watt/efficiency), since AMD will be going all-in for utilizing their future graphics cards as APUs and even without this, their architecture is much more efficient already...

Actually, The cayman arch is completely new and different and they switched from VLIW5 to 4. This 28nm die shrink will be a continued improvement, what GF110 was to GF100 on a larger scale.

I hope the 7000 series launches soon, my birthday is coming up. Rumored Q3 launch!!

What's wrong with AMD's drivers?

I have had 4 AMD GPU's and three Nvidia GPU's over the past year and a half, and the only difference was that the AMD's didn't work well with my Onkyo receiver. Other than that, there were no driver issues whatsoever.

In the vast majority of cases, the user is the problem and not the drivers.

i hate waiting.
oh well.
whats said about kepler is very promising. i think my next cards might be a pair of GTX660Ti's or something
AMD cards arent cutting it for folding. 12k PPD with these cards is pathetic. my old 275's got 20k PPD

if only you wasn't so ignant.

99.9% of issues are USER related -___-
besides, ATi drivers have improved a long way, and i haven't had a single issue over drivers with ATi AND nvidia cards.
besides, 6xxx scaling (especially Trifire and quadfire) beat nvidia's scaling.
please stop the ignorance fanbois.
