Whatever gave you THAT idea you silly man

I think if I did that I'd probably have to finally take the plunge (get it?) into water cooling ... which I basically know nothing about other than what basic parts are required, and what it looks like when it's hooked up (and the kinds of temps people get).

It's an awful lot of GPU power though ... to only have 1280MB hooked up to. That's the main reason I've not already given it a go. Well, that and the fact that my fiance is starting up a business and has done nothing but spend money (much of it mine) for the past entire year

Oh, yeah ... there's also the the fact that there's only like 3 games out there that my current setup won't totally max out anyways ...

GTX470 3-way SLI is a very powerful setup as I learned in guru3d's review. And yes, it is not the SLI scaling (which is quite good) nor the CPU bottlenecking (somewhat at 1920x1080) but the potential heat issue that you need to worry about.

And an off topic comment:remember to make a complete system overhaul/upgrade before your fiancee becomes your wife.

Thread Starter
I'll be selling the reference 470. The unlocked card overclocks like a champ, so gonna keep it until I can find a replacement. I never realized how cool and quiet it is until I hooked up the reference card.

I'm upgrading to either BD or SB (depending on how BD performs). I'll RMA this board and sell it after once that happens. Might switch to a dual gpu card for now.

For some reason, I really want the 2win
In progress.
