Hi

I'm having a little trouble with my installation which I have not had before.

with my new build I had to install the windows xp pro 64bit on the standard Intel chip set as I did not have a way in import the drivers for the Marvell controller. I thought ok that's fine I can install the windows 7 ultimate upgrade on the Marvell raid 0 after.

Once I installed xp and then installed the windows 7 on the Marvell raid 0 I then wanted to format that other hard drive but for some reason its not letting me and I can't find out why.

Regards

Daniel

Right click and mark as inactive then try; windows thinks its a OS drive so It doesnt want you to play with it.

Could be overclock freaking out, reset cmos?

or worse, psu or ram could be dead.

try swaping sticks out. puting them back 1 by 1.

Don't format with windows. Try gparted. http://gparted.sourceforge.net/

The absolute best imo.

Right found out is the PSU that is a fault!!! Not even been running for more than 8 hours and its dead ah just not my luck. Got to now send it back to get a replacement!!

No overclock has been done yet as it was still in the process of finishing off the installation.

for the HDD issue what i might do is unplug it try and boot with just the Marvell raid if it works then place it into another PC format it there and reinstall it.

Thanks for your replies

Regards

Daniel

Right i'm back up and running with a new power supply.

I'm still having problem with this install. I was able to Format the drive but was unable then to load windows. I placed the windows 7 upgrade DVD in to fix the problem. When I was able to get on the desktop again it had reinstalled the partition again. When I looked more closely I noticed that the system part of the install had stayed on the old hard drive. I think this is the main cause of it not work and it need both drive to boot up.

Is there away to move the system onto the main hard drive?
