SILVERSTONE 1000w or Cooler Master 1000w?

Thread Starter
Which power supply should I get, SILVERSTONE Strider Gold 1000w or Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1000w?

Or do you guys honestly think my current psu can handle 2 gtx 580 with an overclock, and a high overclock on my 2600k?

I'm thinking I'll be just fine with my current psu, but honestly I can probably use it in my secondary pc. It's using a 5 year old 750w thermaltake tough power (though it seems like it has plenty more life left in her).

thanks

So what PSU are you changing to? I'd imagine we'd both have a similar power draw. although you may have 1 pump on me and a couple more fans etc....

If I remember correctly, he is getting a third 580 and going for the Antec HCP 1200. The reasoning behind it is even if he could get away with less that antec is the best psu on the market. So if your dumping that much money into yours ystem you should probably get the best.

Likewise the HX850 is one of the best in it's watt range if not a tad expensive for what it provides. But if you already own your psu, then I wouldn't change it.

id pick the corsair 1200 over the antec all day
i know 80mm fans get very noisy when hot from exp with my antec...

your 850 corsair will power that system just fine

HX 850 is a very good psu... You have no need to switch it up for SLI 580 ... unless you have $200 buxs to spend.... if you do please mail it my way hahaha
