AMD 975 CPU & 1600MHZ Ram

Thread Starter
Hey guys just updated my system to a gigabyte UD5 Am3 board
and 8Gb Dominator 1600Mhz ram.

When i OC the ram to 1600mhz i get a blue screen not straight away but after running prime for about 30min. Ran memtest Ram came up clean.

I did read up somewhere that the 975 Phenom Cpu's can only support 1333mhz if this is true is there a way to get around?

Any help would be great.

If you are using 4 dimms then yes it will be difficult to get it to run at 1600. the IMC on deneb (even the C3's) will only allow 1333 with all the slots full. If it's just 2 sticks I would check the voltages and timings.

I run all 8GB @ 1632 MHz with my 955 without any problems but with some overclocks.

Take a look at my thread here and you'll get your asnwer: http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/10...gb-1600-a.html

False, just increase Dram Voltage to 1.65V and put 9,9,9,24,1T

I only had to increase CPU NB voltage. RAM voltage stayed the same or was raised one notch from 1.510V

That's low end ram and not binned to oc.
My ram is Kingston and XMS3 1333mhz with 4 Dimms used, and i can get 1600mhz, or i can overclock to 7,7,7,24,1T, Stock 9,9,9,24
