Is the 6870 good for me? - Page 2

6870 and an athlon x4 will be fine. You running a 19" screen means what, 1440x900? Yea you will be maxing everything at that res.

Enfluenza - I'm not sure what XFX does in relation to warranty in the UK, are you able to elaborate on that any more per chance? And how exactly does voltage control have it's benefits?

Chrystal - Cheers for the info, duly noted. It's useful to hear of other's experience. I just want to make sure I do make the right choice - as I only really have one chance to get it right.

Wildcard36qs - A little bit of math never killed anyone haha, yea. It is 1440x900 - though I do have a second monitor with HDMI in (It's a Monitor TV - TopGear while gaming, who could ask for more? <3) which I think is like err...21" or something? (either way it's max res is... 1920x1080 - Will I max on that?)

On a side note, right now I'm stuck on knowing who to purchase the card from anyways? And I'll have all the money ready in the next couple of days.

my god that sucks!

conclusion: buy MSI card or move to Canada/USA and buy XFX card and enjoy x2 lifetime warranty

Meh, 1 year warranty is good enough for me. Either way - still need advice as to where to purchase it from.

Already allocated some money for that, gonna get an OCZ Stealth X-tream2 750W (I think that's what it's called anyways).

i keep it on 70% when playing crysis 2, and it stays below 75C, volts is at 1.225 (haven't found lowest safe voltage yet)
but yeah threadjacking is bad.

OCZ is best value for money as far as I'm aware. I'm only going to have about £200 total to get my graphics card and PSU (and I don't know where I'm going to get ~£60 from for sure yet anyways).

I'm yet to decide for certain how quickly I want to purchase my parts, and as to whether I should save up to buy something better (but I don't want to deliberately bottleneck myself).
