GHz is just a speed.

Windows 7 uses about a gig of RAM, and would use more CPU imo.

XP is less "strenuous"? (I think that's the word I'm looking for..)

More cores can handle more tasks at once. GHz is the speed at which how fast and smoothly the can get the tasks done.

This completely depends on what you're doing with the PC. If you benched those 2 against each other it would be completely dependent on the threading of the software. L4D 2 GHz wins. Vid encoding the quad wins. Etc etc.

The answer to this thread is a 3.8GHz quad wins.

I have the 560 which unlocked to a B60.

For adobe flash games, I get best performance with 4 cores 3.93 GHz.

When I drop down to 3 cores, I can get 4.1 GHz and I get better results in games.

2 Cores can go 4.2 GHz but I don't get better results in anything.

If you get bored of overclocking like me, try undervolting.

I got my processor to 4 cores 2GHz CPU, 1.6GHz CPU-NB for 1.009375v vCore and 0.89375v CPU-NB

Everything is Prime95 24 hours Blend stable btw
