ATTENTION: Corsair Force 3 and Force GT OWNERS! (All sizes now available)

There's a new firmware update available for the following drives:
Current firmware is v1.2 while these are v1.3.

via Corsair Support Forums

(I'm about to update and will report back with results.)

UPDATE:

Upgrading the firmware was completely painless and was done in the OS.

MAKE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

Will report daily regarding stability. On v1.2 my drive crashed 2-3 times in 20-24 hour intervals. My drive first crashed after a week and half of no issues.

UPDATE2:

3 DAYS LATER I STILL CRASHED.

Wonder if this will fix my issues with my 800D SATA3 backplane. Will try an update later tonight.

I updated safely with MS-AHCI driver. AMD AHCI driver did not work. Only difference is before queue depth is ''4''.

My drive averages ~460MB/s for the writes and NEVER passed 500MB/s; even when the drive was attached as a secondary unit.

I've seen some people get real close to rated speeds. I don't know if they're lucky or I'm/we're unlucky.

On another not regarding firmware stability, I haven't crashed (yet at least). I did experience some slight freezing/lockups but I don't know if that's because I was installing like 20 huge/demanding apps simultaneously. All I had to do was bring up the Task Manager and close the unresponsive apps.

regardless, that's some insaaaane speeds.

My drive was advertised at 275/275 and I get like 200/90.

Those speeds are still incredible to me, as I don't write a ton of data.

SATA3 is the way to be. smile.gif

Are those speeds with ATTO and have you done the tweaks in the guides?

If so, you might have a bad drive. I would definitely look into it further and get what you paid for. I've heard nothing but positive reviews with Corsair Support so should you have to RMA the drive you'll be in good hands. /AllstateInsuranceCommercial

Our latest testing shows that this update will not work using a Marvell controller.

Those are my crystal disk bench stuff.

my random read/writes are great, though. Also, there's almost no info available on my drive [the corsair f115 25nm]. I guess I could just assume it should perform within the ballpark of a force 120gb 34nm.

i really hope it isn't a drive problem.. don't want to deal with any more RMAs atm smile.gif
