Can i run ati and nvidia together?

Hey,
I have a XFX Radeon HD 6850 and I'm planning to replace it with a Nvidia GeForce 560 Ti and was just wondering if they can run together in my pc?

I'm pretty sure that would be a no-go my friend.

I'm almost positive that SLI and Crossfire are two different things, plus the drivers are different and would more than likely mess with the cards and you'd suffer in performance.

*scratch head* Not necessarily, for folding I guess it would be better.

IJR, didn't they come out with some motherboards that allowed "sli/crossfire" between incompatible cards?
You would need a board that supports Lucid Hydra technology... but even then there's no real performance gain, in most cases you actually lose performance. It's nothing like true SLI/CFX.

Why not just get a second 6850?
The only way to have them work together is to use the 560 as the physx card, but that would be a total waste.

As dustin said, SLI and crossfire are not inter-compatible, sorry

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3B3 motherboard if that helps. And I was just wondering cause you wouldn't have to crossfire/sli it would you?
