Question about Noctua NH-D14

Thread Starter
I wanted to make sure the Noctua NH-D14 will fit on a LGA1155 i5 sandy bridge cause according to newegg it fits the LGA1156 but LGA1155 isn't listed as being compatible and wanted to make sure before I add it to my build I'll be buying soon. If it does fit does anybody see any fitment issues with this build?

I believe that socket LGA 1155 & LGA1156 share the same mounting-hole design, so it should be fine. Socket 1366's mounting holes are different, though I think. Socket 1336's holes should be the same as LGA 2011.
Hah, I typed mounting hole, that sounds SO dirty.

Thanks. One more question. Thinking of changing the memory for my build. Does anybody know if this will fit using the noctua NH-D14 or will the ram heat spreaders be to big to fit under the noctua?

The CPU cooler mounts for 1155 and 1156 sockets are the same. NOT the CPU's themselves.
And yes, those should fit with that cooler.

I sure hope your right that the ram will fit with the cooler cause I'm probably gonna order from newegg soon and don't want to have to return it lol.

I think that RAM would fit fine, however, if you are paranoid and want to be 110% sure that the RAM would fit using the NH-D14, then get low profile RAM, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233196

Low profile RAM like the Corsair sticks I just linked don't have the fins on top of the heat spreaders to mess with your clearance. It might be worth getting those, after all it is only $5 more.

They should fit. I've seen pictures of the Ripjaws fitting under a Silver Arrow which is of very similar size to the D14.
