Let’s check for the status of “Volume Shadow Copy” service and ensure that it’s started and the startup type is set to “Manual” or “Automatic”.

a. Click “Start”.

b. Type “services.msc” in hit “the Start search box and Enter”.

c. Right-click the “Volume Shadow Copy” service and click “Stop” to stop the service.

d. Right-click the service and click “Start” to start the service.

e. Double-click the service.

f. Under the “Startup type” drop-down, select “Automatic”.

g. Click “Apply” and “OK”.

Note Stopping the Volume Shadow Copy service may disable the older restore points.

Additionally, check for the dependency services of “Volume Shadow Copy” and ensure that the service is started and the startup type is automatic. To check for the dependency service, right-click “Volume Shadow Copy” and select Properties and click the Dependencies tab.
