new budget build - Page 2

+1

I forgot to mention about the PSU.
For that build anything over 650 is overkill so 550 would do fine.
The 560ti is about 15 - 25% faster then the 460 so you can save even more by going for 460.

not exactly 15-25%...its more like 10-15%...
so at op's low res (around 1280x1024)....a gtx 460 will do more than fine for each and every game on market with a few exceptions like metro2033,witcher(with ubersampling on) etc etc...

so to op...pls save precious $$$ in gpu and psu(u will be saving close to 100-200$$) and invest those saved $$ in cpu and get an i5....
it will be with u for a long time....

2) no use taking gtx 560 its just overpriced gtx 460...so either get the gtx 560 ti version or get a gtx 460(will be cheaper for about 130$)....

i hope u will look into my suggestions...u wont regret it....
750w for sli and new CPU.. 560 was fairly priced I think... Maybe I can get a 460 and invest the remaining money on a CPU???

ok so u should have told u were planning on sli...
so i assume u will sli either gtx 560 or gtx 460 so either of those a 650 watter is enough even for sli and u can take my word on it.....
and as told before...if its the gtx 560 "ti" version then it makes sense to take it...
gtx 560 non "ti" is just a rebranded gtx 460....and is priced higher than gtx 460...

so pls take a gud gtx 460 and oc it itwill really come close gtx 560 ti in performance...and at ur resolution u dont need to worry about getting good fps even with gtx 460...

for instance take my rig into account...i have a 17" monitor
with max res 1280x1024 and my gtx 460 is more than sufficient for 99% of the games(60+ fps)....

so finally
1) get a good 650 watt psu
2) get gtx 460 non "se"(se ones r gtx 460's with less shaders) 1gb editions..

3) get core i5 2400 3.1ghz quad core cpu....
and have fun.....

if thats the case try finding an hd 6850 fromamd(look at saphire or powercolor or msi as good brands)..
hd6850 is identical in performance to gtx 460...so see if its cheaper and go with it...

The powercolor 6850 is around 160 dollars.. That's cheap!!! But still in that budget I can go upto a g850 at most until I get a 650w then I can get i3 2100. But the problem is that the psu has only 2 8+2 pin connectors.. So if I sli later I'll have to use a moles to pcie adaptor.. Will that be fine or not??

its actually 6+2 pin....
nope it wont be a problem bcoz
1) hd 6850 only uses 1 pcie 6 pin connector yay
2) even with a situation in which totally 4 six pin r needed then u can use one each on each card and use molex converters for the one connector left in each card...
i mean use the default 6 pin connectors like this:
1st 6 pin goes to first card
2nd 6 pin goes to second cad..
and then use molex converters for left connections...
simple....
