Thanks for bagging on my system again. Dual cores are fine and still widely used, most games don't manipulate all 4 cores. Yes I'd like to OC but I can't seem to get ANYTHING stable. This includes GPu and CPU. I BELIEVE my cpu is stable at 3.8 but anything higher is immediate failure. And it seems my GPU isn't going to work with any volt mods. I tested a lot to make sure artifacts aren't there. I'm at 1.062v 875/1750. But Crysis is randomly freezing for a few seconds or so. I really believe my mobo is bad and Asus will fix it. (I hope they jsut replace it with a p67 so I can afford an upgrade) D:
He really wasn't "bagging" on your system...he was stating a fact. Dual cores are on their way out. And of course your computer can run crysis 2 and not crysis 1...it's a lot more optimized.

and i see u have ssd maybe my hdd is pulling my system back....
and u have gtx 480 + oced cpu too....factoring all that in its no wonder its running stutter free on ur rig....
It could be your monitor. Or do you have V-sync on?

EDIT: Whoops should have read the system specs. Remember when you play more recent games it WILL require recent hardware.

I'm saying the game wasn't made very good if it sucks butt on a 3ghz dual core. So many more games run so much more physics and they run just fine. And I think the extra sucky FPS is because of something is wrong with the motherboard. Telling me my hardware sucks is totally inappropriate and stupid as it's plenty enough for a game that's not much more than a console game.

Someone said they were running a p4 and a 9600gt and it was decent enough. Mine is unplayable. There is something wrong other than YOUR HARDWARE SUCKS.

Tips about anything settings or something that's messed up with something would be more appreciated rather than GET A QUAD CORE. I just am thinking this game isn't programmed so amazingly as other games with much more physics run just great on a dual core.
"That game is intensive and requires more processing power than an e8400 @ 3.8GHz can give it." isn't bagging on your rig, it's pointing out that for that application you'd be much better off with an overclocked quad.

The thing that's wrong other than "YOUR HARDWARE SUCKS" (it doesn't and you're taking their constructive criticism far too personally anyway) is that that game requires a lot of power to run smoothly.

Your attitude is actually ridiculous, you don't come on a forum asking for help and then reject the help people are giving you because they're telling you your PC could be better...

Look.

Your CPU arch is old it is holding you back in games such as BFBC2.
I have tested this and proven it with the better architecture of my 2500K 2 cores @ 3.6Ghz, the 8400 is comparable to less than that.
But in games such as AVP2010, you will not notice any real difference. The reason for this is because they rely much more heavily on the GPU and have minimal physics calculations done by the CPU.
Your GPU is well fine, just make sure you try to adjust settings to ease the pressure on your CPU (less physics etc)

So why are you so butthurt?

no i have my vsync off....its the same with on or off....

wut???
u r saying my system is old to play a 2008 game....now thats simple ignorance...
an i7 and a gtx 460 r more than enough to play 99% of the games smoothly...
and in that 1% its my gpu which will be holding me back and not my cpu...

seriously i donno what u were trying to say there.....

Well I just started playing crysis 2. Constant 60fps on hardcore setting at 1080p. I experienced bad fps in Crysis 1 and Bfbc2 I get random frame rate drops. But I noticed in bfbc2 it's only putting like 30-40% load on gpu And like if I turn up to 32x AA it doesn't effect the fps at all.
Dude, my Q9650 @ 4.55 when playing BF BC2 easily sees 90% cpu utilization on average with similar load on my GTX 480. I don't know why you are expecting to play Bad Company 2 on a dual core and get good fps.

Yeah I get it I need to pay 200$ to play BFBC2. I'm saying BFBC2 sucks because it's just a mediocre xbox360 game that can't even run on a system that crysis 2 can run 60fps on -.-

first of all be polite and don't get ticked off by others comments..they r just saying what they know...
i assure ur rig can pull more than 30 fps in bfbc2 at any time ingame...

just remember these things...
1) update/patch the game to latest version.

2) update system motherboard and gpu drivers.

3) update directx.

4) check if ur cpu oc is stable(to check set ur cpu to stock/default settings
and try running game and see whether there is any difference in performance).

5) check ur memory timings and run memtest86+ to see ur memory sticks r error free.

6) check ur hdd with hdtune s/w for any faults or performance issues.

7) then see that none of ur hardware is overheating.

8) see the latency of ur system using latency monitor software and see for any anomalies.

9) lastly update ur motherboard's bios and check ur psu whether its working correctly by measuring
its voltages.

do all these and report back..if u have any doubt about any of the above steps ask them here...

and dont be rude to those trying to help and ignore those saying otherwise...

I can't do nearly all that but yeah I don't get why people can't see that my machine can easily run an xbox game at 30fps. I'm gonna try running it as directx9. And yes I can get 60fps, when I'm looking away or at the ground. But when I'm firing with a lot of people and what not, Huge fps drop.

And I do NOT appreciate when people just say, your stuff sucks get new stuff. -.-
