When are you going to realise that PC gamers and there extensive christmas wishlists for what "they want" are just not gonna happen. You will never be happy no matter what is developed or what new tech comes out, you's will always find things to complain about, always.

You's want all these great things to make PC gaming awesome and you know what, I bloody want them as well. But, am I going to think that by refusing to use something new in order to play a great game is gonna make santa bring me all those great things? Get a clue guys.

What are you talking about? I just put $7000 towards my PC gaming setup all of which were on my wishlist. If I see something I want I bloody buy it, I don't need to wait for "Santa" because I am my own Santa!

There's more to this issue than "just complaining" to be complaining. And I'm not the only person that EA has screwed over like this either.

BF3. High res textures(no texture pack needed), DX11, dedicated servers, dedicated PC controls/support, 64 player MP, larger maps, 60fps performance(30fps on console) are just a few features that cover what PC gamers want. But....It's not on Steam. Crysis 2 didn't really have any of what I just listed when it launched on Steam, but no DX11 or high res textures....no buy. C2 was taken off Steam, then it became a big deal.

I know people had bad experiences with EA and they have the right not to buy it. That's fine with me. But what is it going to take for the PC community to support a game without some kind of controversy. If BF3 was on Steam right now, with all the features and more I listed above, this thread would have a different title about some other nonsense to complain about.
Like I said, if it wasn't for Origin, I would buy it in a heart beat. Even if it wasn't on Steam, as long as it wasn't tied to Origin, I would buy it. I don't need or want another game management/download client. It's fine if you don't understand or agree with that sentiment. I am sure it will be a great game so enjoy it when it comes out.

What's so hard to about the fact that people want options? It's an elementary idea. We don't want to be force fed EA's digital distribution. Like I stated in my first post that you didn't read I guess. We don't care if they use Origin for BF3. We want the option to choose to have it on Steam with our other games. If people want to run both, or switch to Origin fine, let them do that. Don't force everyone to use EA's digital service.

Read the one regarding you being forced to pay the same game again, but may I ask how that occurred? I have a game that I havent installed or played for a long time, so I am curious what made that happen.

Also to the people saying that that they dont want to install another manager. I do understand that if you play a game and have a lot of online friends, steam is better, but otherwise whats wrong with a single program being installed on your computer? It barely takes up resources, it plays the game you want, does most things just as steam does. Then again, it is the users choice to not want to install one thing to play a awesome game. I personally am really looking to play BF3 so one program doesnt really mean crap to me.

God this is still going? What is left to argue about?

With EAs recent track record:

The #1 issue going on right now is that people simply do not trust EA. After hearing that this guy had is game invalidated b/c of a simple post on their forums I will never trust EA with Origin.

If the main concern is EA screwing up the origin service and losing or removing your download, surely then the retail hard copy would remove this issue?

EA might have a log reach but they can't delete a physical disc. And I can't see how they will delete your cd-key.

Only run in I had with EA was my crysis warhead key ran out, so I emailed them and sent pics of my retail copy, including my cd key to prove I owned it and within a day I was given a new key, plus they released that registration remover thing.

So dunno I that makes me "lucky" or I just went about it the proper way and so did they, but all I know is I'm getting a hard copy, coz I'm no missing this game, and for us Aussies a hard copy from
GAME is the cheapest way to get the game too so why wouldn't ya.

It might, it might not, considering that BF3 requires Origin to play, similar to Portal 2 requiring Steam to play.

If it was required for ME3 then I'd have to stomach it, but the rest of their library, no. I could not tell you how absolutely livid I would be if i had to deal with any of the issues i mentioned. I might seriously go postal.
