Do some critical thinking on your own before putting forth such a paper thin excuse.

Why do YOU think that their 'licensing' agreements don't hold water? What are some examples of other companies who do the same thing but don't have the same issue? What are some examples of other DD's who sell the same game but don't have the same issue? Why would a DD be any different than a physical sale, do they confiscate the discs after 1.5 yrs?

I saw it posted in this thread but i forget where to be perfectly honest. They said that the game states it requires origin to play

1. It has everything to do with Origin. How you could think otherwise is beyond me. EA has the ability to lock me out of my own games, point blank, for something as simple as posting stuff their mod might not like on their forum.

2. From what I've read, the person in question didn't troll them. He asked bioware: "Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?" That's pretty damn wimpy to be banning someone over.

3. Maybe EA needs to upgrade their stuff so a forum temp ban or ban doesn't AUTOMATICALLY equal a game ban. Again, the fact that they can do that for something as simple as the post above makes me not trust them.

P.S. I wanna punch your avatar in the face.
1.
They can do it without Origin.

Its not an Origin specific feature. That's the whole point.

You can buy a game on PS3, 360 or whatever you want. As long as that game requires you to log onto EAs server to play, you're not playing it if you get yourself banned.

2.
Well that's what you've read. Do you actually know the whole story?

3.
It's intentional.

And no, you don't just get banned for saying trivial stuff. I'm all over EA forums both US and UK. The official US forums have some of the WEAKEST moderation around and the UK moderation is laxer than this forum but still much stricter than the US forums.

I constantly roast devs (AND mods) in forums from Fight Night to Battlefield to whatever and I have never had one of these bans because you REALLY have to push to get one and the mods need authorization from a senior mod too to do it.

Tbh though, all you have to do to avoid ANY of this is simply register/post on the forums with a different EA account than the one you game with.

wow well that makes digital downloading almost mandatory, I guess direct 2 drive is the win for beerpowered. They have competitive prices internationally, all different language packs and they are getting bf3, but even so I know their downloading can be real slow especially when you don't have access to open up ports. Honestly a company should make a specific program to serve games more efficiently. They should have a separate server just dedicated for people on duty similar to how they allow soldiers in the us to access rosetta stone. Doubt it would happen but it would be quite nice and not very difficult for them to do.

I don't get how any of this is proving your point or making EA look any better to any one of us. If they want to disrespect, and restrict their customers fine, they will get less. Remember the law of any customer support in buisness anywhere, is that "the customer is always right" no matter what the buisness believes otherwise the customer will alway rebel.

I'm not trying to.

I'm simply pointing out where you are simply flat out wrong in your arguments and reasoning.

Edit: just realised it wasnt actually funkdr that replied to this.

No wonder you dont get the post. It wasnt for you.

Your strict pointing out has gotten you lost from the original purpose. We are proving what we dislike about EA's download manager compared to steam we don't care about the technicalities of their form moderation rules.

Read the general discussion of the thread, not what one person said. It starts with you cant buy bf3 on steam, talking about steam and ea download managers.

But it still involves Origin since they're trying to sell me games on origin. Its one less reason to trust in them and Origin. The extent to which they can do it is limited now but with Origin there's no telling. They might be able to lock me out of games I've already registered.

I don't play too many Ps3 games, how many EA games REQUIRE you to log into EA servers?

Do you? You seem to be doing more assuming than I am.

All the more reason to not trust EA with hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in games.

Feel free to go back and read what we're talking about as it has relevance to the topic at hand.

*edit* nevermind, i misread your point. Yes he is missing the point.
