Your not keeping up with the news.

As long as you have a modern graphics card this game will run fine. There are very very few games that won't max out of the best cards available now and those only run poorly because they are poorly optimized.

Besides if you have a 6970 already now there's really no point in upgrading for a game that is not even out yet. Furthermore BF3 is probably going to be the ONLY game that will make use of all the power of two 6970's in Xfire.

Btw, what are the temps for your cards (load). We have similar systems and my card gets to about 60-70 deg.
Mine load at like 70-75ºC (It's 35ºC-38ºC outside) with a fan speed of 50-55% now in Summer.

We're talking about the Alpha graphics which were capped though, so maybe in the full game when the high res textures are unlocked you might need more GPU horsepower.

You're clearly the one not keeping up with the latest news, those requirements were confirmed by EA/DICE to be fake.

How do you get thoughs temps without watercooling? I check your system you have cooling very similar to mine, and here its only 20 deg room temp.

Your case have more than 5 fans?

I have the Air Conditioner ON @ 24ºC which helps a little bit, if I turn it off, the hottest GPU hits up to 81ºC.

Keep in mind the Raven RV02B-W case is one of the best (Together with the FT02 case) to cool down multi-gpu systems on air because of the 3 AP-181 fans included in the case which hit the air directly into the cards.

If I were you, and could afford a 2nd HD6970, I'd definitely go for it!
