WC Loop for GPU and CPU -> This ok??

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

Okay I've decided that I'm going to go All The Way for my 1st WC experience. Hence, I've decided to do this for my loop:

Hardware:

- Lian Li PC-A70F Full Tower
- AMD Phenom II X6 1100T -> Hope to reach 4.4Ghz on watercooling
- AMD 6970 reference cards

Cooling components:

1. HWLabs GTX 360 top radiator and HWLabs GTX 120 bottom radiator
2. EK Supreme HF Nickel + Acetal for AM3 processors and EK full cover waterblock for AMD 6970
3. Panaflo medium speed 38mm fans X 4 hooked up to Lamptron FC5v2 fan controller
4. 2 X MCP -355 with custom EK tops
5. EK Multioption RES X2 - 150 Advanced (holds 160ml)
6. XSPC Tubing

Cooling loop direction

1st MCP 355 pump -> HWLabs GTX 360 Rad -> AMD Phenom II X6 @ 4+ GHz -> 2nd MCP-355 pump -> HWLabs GTX 120 radiator - > AMD 6970 -> EK Reservoir Top -> 1st MCP-355 pump

I'm using 2 pumps in this loop so as to reduce flow restriction and the reason for 2 radiators is to allow future expansion of the loop.

Seeking your opinion on......

1. Will 2 MCP 355 pumps with custom tops be able to spread the load? Or just 1 pump or 1 extra pump like the MCP 655 / EK DCP 4.0?

2. What tubing dimension should I use...1/2" ID and 3/4" OD? Or?

3. Is 168ml enough capacity to hold all the water?

4. Are there enough rads to go along? I may still WC the mainboard later...

5. What AMD brand should I get for the reference 6970?

Thank you all for your advice!

I think you only will need 1 pump. I like the 3/4" tubing myself with compression fittings.

1 pump is more than enough for that configuration and capable of cooling the board, cpu, 3 cards and 2 or 3 rads if you choose to upgrade, i would go with 1/2 tubbing.

It doesnt matter how much fluid the res can take as long as you keep some air for it to bleed, dont fill it all the way up.
I would change the fans to Gentle Typhoons 3000rpm, more silent and better static pressure .
You have enough rads to cool 2 cards and cpu, depending on fan speed.

Okay. So 1 MCP 355 pump with custom top OR 1 MCP 35X pump.

Thanks for the replies both of you!

For my fans..it's a Panaflo 2K+ rpm fan...I'mm not sure if my lamptron fc5 can control the Scythe Ultra Kaze??
