Also did you try too get it working outside the case, and use a screwdriver too jump the on/off pins?
You may have hooked up the front panel wires wrong. This is why newegg has sooo much open box stuff that works fine.
If you have anxiety you shouldn't be building.I personally am excited, and confident, when I build a pc,far from anxious.I am not trying too be rude, but most likely you did something wrong, not faulty hardware.
That's not entirely correct, firstly mobos do come DOA, my first one was like that (had the constant red cpu light) returned it got a replacement and worked straight away. I have first hand experience with the cpu red light problem, you cannot rule out anything and that does go for cpu and RAM but it's more towards the mobo!
Obviously his a new newbie just as you was back in the days, so positive replies can help boost confidence and relieve him of that anxiety. I'm not a newbie but when I build, yes there is excitment but it can make a u-turn when things start to go wrong and NO I usually follow things a tee and faulty hardware can sometimes be apparent.

Just change the motherboard and you should be fine. Get the Asus P8P67 PRO Edited by munaim1 - 8/6/11 at 9:55am
