Need build revisions, buying parts in 3 hours

My friend is coming over in 3 hours and this is the sub $450 build I planned for him. Please let me know if there is anything wrong with it or if parts won't work together. Most important would be RAM and Motherboard working together properly.

Also, please note that all items MUST be in stock at either Fry's Electronics in Sunnyvale (Zip code 94040) or Micro Center Santa Clara. Fry's price matches Amazon and Newegg so if it is cheaper there I can price match.

I would really appreciate some help guys, this is the first build I will be doing by myself and I am a little overwhelmed.

CPU+MB: Microcenter AMD CPU and MB Bundle: Phenom II x2 560 and Biostar A770E3: http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...tml?sku=102772 $90

PSU: Antec Earthwatts 430W $43.99 (Pricematch Newegg) http://www.frys.com/product/6159859?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

HDD: WD Caviar Blue 320GB $39.99

RAM: Ballistix Sport Series 4GB DDR3-1333 $29.99 http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0364397

GPU: ASUS GTX 550 Ti: http://www.frys.com/product/6639934?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG $130

Case: CM Elite 430 $45 http://www.frys.com/product/6432762?...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

DVD Drive: Whatever $20 we find at Microcenter

What do you guys think of this build? Will the RAM and MB work together?

Looks nicely configured. Just don't try to unlock it though. I'm sure you have heard the horror stories when trying to unlock a CPU on a board than has only 4pin CPU.

Well I could choose a different board . But no, I haven't heard the stories, what happens?

Let me know which one of these motherboards from this list would be best.

The best one would be the M4A88TD in my opinion. Headsinked VRMs. 8Pin CPU. But It'll obviously break you open budget wise. I'd stick with what you have now to be honest. It'll get the job done.

Thanks very much for the help, repped.

That one is like $50 more so I can't do that . Out of the free ones and the $10 more ones is there anything better than this Biostar?

I think the Biostar does it for your area. Doubt it can get better at the price.

The only mobo I would touch is the last one, the ASUS with 8 pin CPU power M4A88TD, believe me the power is needed and wanted more phases the better off you are (my mobo 24 phases no power problems here) If you can't afford it right now I would wait a week or two it will pay off in the end getting the properly powered board.

If you don't want to spend the extra $$ on the motherboard then get the Phenom II x4 840 and try to unlock the L3 cache

...... or just get the 965BE and not worry about unlocking at all

Biostar A780L3G has been a rock solid mobo for me, but you need VRM cooler for it. It can handle 125watts cpu without a problem at stock speeds. It can oc a dual core without a problem. I have oc an Athlon II 240 and 255 to 3.8ghz on it.
