What should I do with my two 460's? - Page 2

Maybe it's my motherboard or something else on my system, I'm not sure. Perhaps SLI isn't working for some odd reason. After upgrading my mobo, memory, and cpu cooler (to fit the new memory), I'll see how things are.

Also, thanks for the replies.

I haven't been keeping up on what new cards are coming out. Should I wait a week or two for something to bring down prices?
I noticed your monitor resolution is pretty high and it might be cause of your low fps. SLI/Crossfire are usually best way to go with 1080p or higher monitors. I get 43fps on heavy mod Crysis, over 60fps on Crysis 2, and 45 on Metro 2033 benchmark. Have you tried lowering your resolution and see if your fps have improved?

It will be sometime this year, but we don't know when. I'd say late october at the earliest.
Haven't heard anything about these, how good are they supposed to be and will they have significant price drops on other products?

Hehe, sorry buddy, no way I'm losing this giant HD resolution. That takes away the whole point!

Im currently in the same situation, I'm on 1080p at the moment and looking to go surround. Unless your thinking of upgrading your resolution anytime soon I would just keep the 460s. Just my 2cents

They will be a LOT better than current cards. It just doesn't make sense to invest in any more current gen cards IMO. I guess your power supply and cooling can handle twin 580s, but it really isn't much of a value proposition either in terms of performance/dollar or performance/watt.

You can lower your resolution ingame and check your fps. Then you can bring it back to native. Do you want to find out if your cards is performing what they should be?

Well thanks for the replies, guys, I appreciate it.

I'll stick with the cards for now and see if my other upgrades will make any difference. The only problem is that once the 28nm cards come out, I might not be able to sell my cards for at least $100 each.
