If you sell them on ebay, you will lose about 28.00 in fees and another 15.00 too ship the pair.At least 25 bucks lost.So you are much better off too sell them here.

Ebay takes around 10 percent of the total sale INCLUDING shipping.Yes they now take 10 percent of what you pay too ship for their own pocket.

Your wasting your money dude. Don't get a new motherboard on the same platform its pointless. Sata III sucks on X58 anyways. x16 vs x8 is like a 1-2% performance difference.

Also plug the second monitor into the same card as your other monitor.

Use MSI afterburner to monitor your gpu usage while gaming. Seems something may be wrong with your setup.

Anyway, I downloaded GPU-Z, they are running at x16/x8. I did notice they are running different BIOS versions, although they are the same cards. Could this be the problem?

PS: I noticed Physx hasn't been working, so I turned it off in my games. It's set to go through my 2nd card (as the 1st one handles the monitors). Maybe the card went bad? I just had this thing replaced, I'd hate to send it back a third time (1st replacement fan was clicking).

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA HOLD THE PHONE... UPGRADING THE MOBO??? no need.

BACK THE HECK UP GUYS.

1. your mobo's slot could possibly suck, some easy ways to check include:

Furmark for multi cards.
if both their temps go up, then they're both working
Proceed to testing with one card in and using Crysis/Crysis Warhead bench and seeing if your fps does increase with the second card in.
You could also go to evga, download their sli profiles, and get the new beta 280 drivers from nvidia

Ontop of that.

DO NOT DO WHAT I'm DOING

see my birthday is coming up, and I'm selling both my 460s for something better, even though I know its a stupid decision. Why is it a stupid decision you ask?

I will take screenshots later if you so wish:

System:
i7 860 @ 4ghz HT off
EVGA 1gb gtx 460 sli @ 875/1750/2000

Crysis 1 Bench, Assault Harbor:

0xAA
Res: 1920 x 1080

avg fps: 51.

That is a ton of FPS on crysis imo, great cards. If you need any benches from legit review sites, I'll provide them stating that overclocked gtx 460s
Destroy 580's
Beat 5970's
Perform onpar with stock gtx 470s

That is value.

I'm waiting for the september launch of the AMD 7000 southern island series. Hopefully the best single gpu should beat a 5970, in which case it would be a great e-peen booster, reason for me to watercool and sexy single card solution. Only real reason I'm selling my gtx 460s. Otherwise I'm keeping them. And if the paper launch is delayed:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127532

cheaper than a 6970, overclocks like crazy, destroys 580s for less and 570s.

on average 17c cooler than reference gtx 480 design, 16vrm design, great for LN2 or even just watercooling. Plus mega e-peen boosters.

I would keep them, by the way. Overclocking them could help a lot.
I'm pretty sure that anything above 1920×1080 ends up putting a dent even in more powerful cards/systems. Saying that though, I would still overclock and wait for Kepler. You can sell one GTX 460 then and keep the other for PhysX.

And I think Spykerv did a pretty good job of clearing up and answering everything possible.

Good luck.

The 480 b stock on evga is the best deal around. A single 480/570
Can't completely max most games without sli. A 580 will give u closer to playable fps with max settings on something like metro, but it's impossible without sli. I'd get a open box 580 or a b stock one. on the and front a 6970/50 would be a great option. I'll be honest and say that unless you're going to sli any of the new cards ud get then don't bother changing cards until the next gen

I'm in the mood for some upgrading from my two EVGA 460 1GB's. I just haven't been pleased with the performance I've been getting with them and I feel that a single-card solution is the right way to go. I've kind of been looking at the 6950's or a 570, as money doesn't grow on trees for me (sucks to be 17). Basically, I'm looking for the best of the best for under.... $300? Nothing too high, I'm wanting to upgrade other parts of my pc (but I already have all that figured out).

[Long, elaborate plan] I'm thinking my cards will at least sell for $100 used on Ebay, maybe $125 if I'm lucky (I've been pretty lucky in the past so who knows). That leaves me at least $200 for my cards. To put it short, I'm upgrading my PC worth $362, and have estimated that I can sell my used parts for at least $230 - leaving me the difference of $132 out of my total $350. After which, I'll have $218 to spend, but giving the $200 from my video cards, that would be $418 - but obviously I don't want to spend all my money as I need to save up a bit. Anything under $300 would leave me at least $118 left, so that sounds good.

So, what should I get for under $300 in the terms of a single-card solution? It can be AMD or Nvidia, that doesn't matter to me (Intel can run both Crossfire and SLI ;D)

Thanks a lot guys!
Oh god, my jaw is almost broken, im sick and its 1 AM. My head was spinning after reading your plan and i still dont understand it. Just sell ur cards and buy a better one.
