Well, that's alright. At least your IBT temps aren't in the mid to upper 80s.

So it looks to me like you're in the clear for doing some good overclocking.

However, it seems to me that most Sandy Bridge experts agree that Prime95's Blend test is about the only test that's worth using due to the way Sandy Bridge is designed.

Well, I am running stable so far. My temps are hovering arfound 34 degrees, as I just do my basic gaming and graphics editing. It's smooth so far. Maybe I could push the overclock more? I don't know, but I probably won't be pressing my luck. Thank you so much Twocables, you helped me a lot.

Oh man, you're very welcome!

By the way, using an Offset Voltage will be nice because then your idle voltages will be much lower. My temps hover at about 25-27°C most of the time. Right now, this is what I see in CPU-Z:

Offset Voltage.

Have another question for you bro. I just looked, and there is a much newer version of my bios on the asus website. It says it offers much better system stability. If I update my bios would I have to re-do the overclock? Or would my settings remain the same.

Lol, well you find OCN'ers all over. You look like you have a solid OC to me if your sig is correct, you may be able to drop the vcore a bit, but if your temps are good then you're fine. And welcome to OCN!

The highest my temps got was around 78 degrees after load testing. You say I could drop the volts a bit? What would you suggest?

Well, I would say as far as temps, I personally don't like to see higher than 75, but don't worry, you won't hurt it by hitting 78 occasionally. As far as dropping the vcore, I didn't realize when I responded there were 5 pages of posts, lol, I don't want to step on twocables toes as I dont know without looking what advice he gave you, he knows what he is doing.

*edit
I am wondering, how did you apply your thermal paste?

What do you mean, how did I apply it? just a small amount of Arctic silver. But twocables told me to use offset voltage but it kind of confused me. The current volts I am using is the voltage another user told me to use. I havent tweaked the volts at all. I ran some stress testing and it passed, so I kept it.

Edit: I'm pretty good on the hardware side of things. It's the software side, and Bios, thats the stuff that starts to confuse me.

No worries man, 78 just seems a little high to me at that voltage and clock, but like I said, it wont hurt anything so don't worry too much about it. I guess I would just drop the vcore a noth or 2, run prime95 over night to check stability, and go from there. Getting a proper oc takes time, but it's worth it.

Also, I was curious about your tim application because my oc is very close to yours voltage and clock wise, and i never get above 70 stress testing.
