Very very nce khalam!!! CL7??? tridents? What voltage were you running them?

hopefully soon I'll be getting the same mobo as you, should have a bit more headroom with the bclk and memory overclock's.

Keep up the good work

Gskill Pi they need a lot of volts but got 2254 at 6-10-6-28 1t at the end ive noticed that vccio and vcssa dont make a difference can have them at 1.0 or 1.2 and still the ram only reacts to Vdim

That's pretty good.

@ everyone.

The corsair LP's are actually quite crap, couldn't even hit 1866mhz with those.

here's a bit more about them.

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz CL9 1.35v ----** REVIEW & OVERCLOCKING **----

Taking it off the list from the OP.

Hey I was wondering did I ever reply to your last message to me? If not then I wanted to say that I would get your set of RipJaws X but then I'll run into clearance issues with the Silver Arrow. I don't think we ever discussed about mushkin ram, don't they usually OC well? (the blackline, redline, or radioactive at least).

Either one of those will be a good choice:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231445

mannn I really want to do the Ripjaws X but as I have said, I'm going to install a Thermalright Silver Arrow, and it the Ripjaws won't fit unless I move the 140mm fan up more, in which case it will case the left panel not being able to close.
In that case go for the sniper.
Your okay to increase it to 1.65v for 24/7 usage.
Do you need more than 4gb? if not then get a much better kit capable of much higher overclocks if and when you feel like benching or folding etc. My kit for example can do 2133 with 1.65 with 9-10-9-27 1T, max I've done stable was close to 2200 with the same timings but much more voltage.

Your choice bud.

Mushkins are good, I think you should probably read the OP and maybe find out which one will be perfect in your situation.

I understand you do folding but not sure how RAM affect it. Not sure if there is a huge difference between 1600 and 2133 in folding, if not than you don't really have to sacrifice the capacity, allowing you to get a decent 8GB kit of 1600mhz. If it makes a noticable difference in folding and you don't need 8GB then you can get yourself a good kit with low latency that will do 2133mhz stable. On that note, the benhcing RAM you see in the OP might be a good idea, however like I said, I'm not entirely sure how RAM affects folding.

I was told that OCing ram would increase the folding productivity. I'm not sure what frequency is the optimal OC but aside from folding, I read that if one were to OC, you would see the biggest gain in performance going from 1600Mhz to 1866Mhz, but beyond that, the increase is negligible and not worth it considering the latency required for most ram to be OC that far.
I would like to use RipJaws X but it's out of questions along with Corsair Vengeance because I will be using the Thermalright SA and tall ramsinks like the ripjaws will push the fan out and I won't be able to close the side panel. From here, it's either G Skill Snipers or Mushkin Black or Redline. Eco's are too pricey so not that either.

According to the review of the sniper, it was crap at overclocking, don't think it scaled well with high voltage, however, here's the sniper at 1866 mhz with 1.5v and CL9. That one might be a better option, you may be able to tighten the timing to 9-9-9-24 with a small voltage bump.

Once again, do you require 8GB or 4GB?

Here's another:

Kingston HyperX 1866mhz CL9 1.65v, unfortunatly their out of stock. Maybe you can find them else where.

Not sure why but a lot of things are out of stock on newegg lol.

yeah, I find that such a bummer, everything seems to be out of stock that I want. I want 8GB, because I like to run a lot of programs and also fold at the same time, I find that with max use, the ram usage is about 3.6gb on average. Having 8GB would give me a cushion.

it's good but if it overclocks the same as the sniper 1.25v then you probably won't be able to get it to 1866mhz.

If I was you I would just stick to the standard 1600mhz, I mean how much of a difference would 1866 or 2133 would make with folding, also because of the RAM clearance issue, it's a bit difficult trying to get the best of both worlds without spending a lot of money and having them in stock and under a specific height.

Go for any of these:

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz CL9 1.5v

Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz CL9 1.5v

Mushkin Enhanced Radioactive 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz CL9 1.5v

Or these:

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2133mhz 1.5v

I think those mushkins just got back in stock lol, not sure how well they overclock, but if you gimme a moment I'll try and find out. Here is a review of the kit: http://translate.google.com/translat...x3.htm&act=url

Seems pretty good, however I didn't read the whole thing.

This gives me an idea.

I'll try and create a section in the OP for 2133mhz RAM
