Prolimatech Megahalems replace?

Thread Starter
Hi,

Is it worth to replace my Prolimatech megahalems (p/p) with a H80 or H100?
I have two Coolermaster Sickleflows on it in a push / pull config.

Although i'm still not satisfied with the performance.

My i7 860 needs a lot of voltage to stay stable on 4Ghz and it hits 80c easily in prime and BFBC2.

Or is it better to upgrade to a complete Watercooling set.. (which i have never done before)

Thoughts?

H80 has similar performance to Megahalems iirc. http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi...ydro_h80/4.htm

Megahalems is slightly better than the TRUE rev. C. According to that graph, H80 is only 1-2C better than the TRUE. You could put the H80 on high speed setting, but you could do the same with Mega and TRUE.

H100 is marginally better than H80 by a few C.

Doesn't seem as effective as it should be.

I would clean it up, reapply fresh tim and remount.

I'd say for anyone already on high end air, if looking for performance, go with a real watercooling setup (something like XSPC RASA for cheap). There really isn't much benefit between the top sealed wc units like the H80/H100 compared to the top air coolers in terms of performance.
