Question about adding extra gfx card for 3rd screen.

Hi, ive been thinking of making a 3 screen setup for my sim racing rig and im just wondering about the power, i have the rig in my sig which currently on the antec power supply calculator with cpu and system usage set to peak load it says or 340-390W (or 370-414 when cpu is overclocked) and i have a strong 450watt PSU made by corsair which has quite good amp rails.

im just wondering that if i add a 6month old 7200SE (slimlined fanless version) which will just be for the port for the monitors (main card will still do work, second is just to plug monitor into, so i will have 1 9800gtx rendering and 1 7200se. will my pc be ok for powering it? it is about 60-100watts free (or 36-80 if i keep my cpu overclocked) currently before ive put it in.

if noone knows could they say weather its safe just to plug it in to test it or would it dammage the pc if the psu cant power it?

No its safe the PSU will reset if you overload it. Not on a rubbish PSU but a corsair should be fine.

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/artic...y-Review/540/8 thats the overload test there.

450Watt is small for tri sli 9800gtxs like...oh... only a small card .. yerr, that seems fine. right on the line tho

cool thanks there might be a chance of me upgrading to a 550watt PSU in a few months because my bro might be upgrading his pc and giving it to me, its 2 years old but its still going to have more power than my current one since its the same model just higher in the range of that model i just dont know if the second card will use as much power as in normal use for this application because it doesnt render but still has to do something.
