..Have any of you actually played the game?

No, seriously, have you? Because it appears you have not if you are suggesting a game like TF2 as if it has some relevance.

Brink is an incredibly well designed game, they just lacked a deep enough story to back it up. The game only did poorly because it had a built up expectation that was not met. However, if looked at objectively, is actually quite a good game.

The only real problem with the game is that it is nearly impossible to find a game that is not 95% bots, and having teammates who actually know what they are doing. Aside from that, the freerunning element is ingenious, and nearly flawless. They certainly mixed up how you have to pick weapons to actually achieve goals, and each role is so specific that if you do not have necessary numbers you WILL fail, every game.

Now, to those of you who played all of an hour and called it bad, please rethink your position. I do not ask for anyone to go back and play it - although I'm sure it's well populated atm - but do not call a game bad strictly because it is not your style of play.

The mechanics are not bad, the graphics are not bad, the gameplay is not bad. The only thing that is bad is your bias of the game.

This game isn't /nearly/ as bad as people are making it out to be.
I like it a lot more than Crysis 2, which I actually paid full price for.

Game deserves credit for being different, and I get the idea that a lot of people are shooting it down precisely because it is different, and not just another BF or COD.

TF2 should not be compared to this. Tf2 is much better

I paid $49.99 on release day, and after playing it, I'd pay $24.99 to have this abomination removed from my steam games list.

I tried the game, because I wanted to see how the game was myself. All I can say there is a reason the Metascore on this game is 70. The game seems to have a weird "flow" to it. And the "tutorial" is junk. Someone here posted how to find your objectives by pressing the middle mouse button. That info should be in the tutorial.

IMHO, they should have taken the TF2 and modded it to be Brink.

To me, Brink is okay at best. I why spend time and money a game that's simply okay, when you can get a game like TF2 for free and have a blast. Metascore on TF2 is a 92.

This.

I highly suggest watching Cynical Brit's *** is Brink? video. He is incredibly objective when talking about games; tells both the good and the bad after actually playing for hours.

The game really is not as bad as people are making it out to be, at all. Seems like everyone is just jumping on the hate-wagon or are soured because they wanted TF2 with customization and didn't get it.
