EK 240 kit

Thread Starter
I think I want this kit.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ekh3osuhf240.html

Looks good, I thought about the XPSC 240 kit, but I don't know. I can't find the EK kit anywhere. If anyone knows where to get it, or a better suggestion for the money then I am all ears.

A 240 radiator will fit perfect in my case without complicating things or making it cluttered. A 360 would interfere with my video card I believe. And if I decided to cool my card (planning on a gtx580 at the same time as water) then I could add another 240 rad. My little 120 radiator now keeps things cool, so a 240 ought to be more than enough.

its available from here
http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/EK-Water-Blocks-EK-KIT-H3O-Supreme-HF-240-Cu-IntelAMD_20965.html

and for the shipping charges you may need to contact them

aaah here we go man its all your luck check this out

i cant really comment on its performance but it depends on ur need.. the rad and the cpu block are the two most important things as one withdraws the heat from the chip and the other dessipates it in the air (obviously the transfer medium being the liquid inquestion) if the cpu block here is good then i think you're sorted the 240 rad is just ok and you can always attach your existing 120 rad for sum more performance...

as you're saying there isnt enough spacing for single 360 rad well a 240 coupled with 120 both at different locations can have the same effect biggrin.gif

Appreciate it but those are both oversea's to me, which equates to major shipping. I may just have to wait it out, or build my own kit I guess....

Thanks.

XSPC has the better kits, and much better customer support. I've dealt with XSPC customer support before, and they're phenomenal, and very quick to respond/ship out product. If a problem were to arise with your EK kit, I can guarantee you that Eddy from EK would place the blame on you, the end user, instead of putting the blame on his company.

The EK kit only looks better because of all the fancy marketing and boxing. For that price, you'd be better off just building your own loop.

Example loop:

XSPC Rasa water block = $50
XSPC RX240 = $70
Swiftech MCP350 = $55 or Swiftech MCP655 w/ speed control = $77
~6' of PrimoChill 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD tubing (your color choice) = ~$13.50
handful of worm clamps = <$10
2x Yate Loon High Speeds = $14 or 2x Cooler Master R4's = $18
IandH Silver KillCoil (A MUST) = $7
2 Gallons of distilled water at the store = $2
**One of these two for MCP350**
XSPC DDC Top/Res = $35 + T-line connector (for filling) = <$5 + Stopper/plug for t-line = cheap? (need the t-line for the MCP655 too)

or

XSPC Dual Bay Reservoir for SINGLE DDC pumps = $45

Grand total of $215 (MINUS shipping), slightly extra for different choices, prices from performance-pcs.com

With this, you'll have a much better radiator, much better pump, colored tubing, not crappy dyed coolant, better clamps, AND all for a cheaper price.

Well that's exactly what I wanted to know. Originally I was going to with the XSPC kit, just saw the ek kit and see ek's parts being flashes around alot and asusumed they were good. But I guess that is the way I will go as I want the big enough was to keep my stuff nice and chilly. smile.gif

Thanks

you cann't even get EK kits on thier site, I'd asume they are trying to catch up with all the rma's of ppl who had the nickle blocks that flaked, replacing them with the new EN versions
just for info the EK kits come with compression fittings if I remember rightly
