I guess I wasn't completely clear... I know the EXACT requirements are not yet released, at least benchmark-wise. Idk. I was just hoping what people were thinking after playing the Alpha. I know that it isn't the finished game at all, but was a 460 enough? *shrug* sorry for the thread I guess...
Don't apologise mate, the forums are for questions, if the haters have a problem, they can clearly see the title and just not enter the thread.
You weren't asking the best card EVAH!!!! for BF3, 'cos any top-end card that you can afford fits that bill, recommended requirements for BF3 have been stated as a 460 or 6850, so you can guarantee you'll at least get playable rates with those cards on high settings (dependant on resolution and server size).
For the price of a 460 or 560Ti right now, the 460 is the better option until the 560Ti drops in price more, so you may aswell rule them out, unless that's the range you're looking for.
You could even SLI 460's for a great price, however it's really best to wait closer to the time, there's great hype over the game, sellers will want to make sales around it's release, aswell as with the release of BD, so you can expect some decent price drops for those upgrading their rigs in the upcoming months.
Like it's been said, though it's good to plan ahead, Alpha's and BETA's aren't the final game release, you can get a good guess, but you're better off waiting closer to release to get a really good idea.
It's also apparent that Radeon's are pulling ahead of nVidia cards in the Alpha, so wait for any bugs to be worked out and rectifications before buying.
The system requirements are up, so just base off that as your minimum, and set a realistic budged for yourself, then go from there.
Me personally, I wanted a 560Ti for BF3's release, but I may just go with SLI 460's, or I may wait for a good price drop and chose afterwards.
